There are suppose to be three ways to get this to work:
1) Adapter 1 - Host-only Adapter (for connection between guest and host) + Adapter 2 NAT (to enable Internet connection for the guest); I have pictures here and I am not able to get it to work:

2) Bridged Adapter - I think that this one works only if a router is present; there is info here: http://tinyurl.com/cystzv9
3) Port forwarding with NAT - I think this might be the only solution here; there some info about it at this address: http://tinyurl.com/d38opym
Oveall, I think that the setup that I have is pretty standard and a lot of people might be using something like that, so it would be good to figure this out and make it clear whether it should work or not (based on TCP/IP protocol), what would be the best way to do that etc.
Thank you.

You are asking how to get an internet connection working in a Linux guest. Questions like that are best asked in the "Linux Guests" forum, after searching for previous answers.
Also, I for one am reluctant to click on unknown links, hence I have not seen what I assume are your pics. I don't really know why you chose to use TinyURL instead of attaching the pics directly.
I can't help with your actual problem since I'm not a Linux user.

jtt89 is struggling because he/she will not listen and do what they are told.
At this point they have started the third topic trying to get a different answer which has been given them over and over again.
I am going to say this one last time. You have corrupted your host-only setup.
Again here is the information that needs to be in your host-only network section.

You should delete the one that you have now (in the preference -> network) and create a new one exactly as shown.
I am also locking this topic because it is the exact same issue as the last one.
