Virtual FCoE adapter

Is there any work being done to support a virtual ethernet adapter that is FCoE capable? I'm interested in using this to test FCoE client and server software in a virtual environment.

Do you believe the virtual NICs are not FCoE capable already? As far as I can tell FCoE is just a standard for stuff in the Ethernet packet payload, not requiring any hardware support at all.
