[request] export appliance with full snapshot tree

Post by iDen »

Will we be able to see some time feature which allows to export/import appliance with snapshots tree ?
I think it is very helpfull feature to have tree of snapshots tree and all steps of OS development after export/import action.

Or is it possible to copy directory of system with further import rightnow ?

Another request. while importing appliance to custom directory/filename you have always put .ova extension by yourself. It's kind of annoying.

Thanks.

You can already copy a VM, with full snapshot tree if you insist, provided the VM was created using VirtualBox v4.x. Just copy the containing folder to the new host, and on that host you double click the .vbox file, or use the Machine|Add... menu item to add the VM to that GUI.

In VBox v4.1.0 or later you can copy even older VMs if you clone them first, then move the clone to the new host as above.
