Fedora 16 VM on Lion...

Hi,

I just installed Fedora 16 into a new VB vm.

The auto run sh program would not start properly and I executed the Linux archive on the virtual CD
and it appears that most of the tools installed. At least I can resize the VM's window properly...

It appears that Gnome 3 falls back to the compatibility mode, bummer. I have a fedora 15 vm and
I get the 'full' gnome 3 experience.

Is there any way to get the full Gnome 3 shell in the Fedora 16 VM?

I am running the newest macbook pro with quad core 2.5ghz i7 processor and 8GB of memory, horse power is not an issue...

Thanks for any insights.

Jerry

The only insight I can give you is the current Gnome3 and Unity3D both run fine natively on Mac hardware but not in VirtualBox on any distro I've tried. It's something that remains to be resolved.

Currently I'm running Fedora 16 w/XFCE.

Surely it is not the solution, but after I turned off selinux and rebooted, Gnome 3 came up :)

The bad news is that restoring from a saved image generates an abort in the VM.

It appears that this problem has plagued Virtual Box for quite a while...
