Complete OSX host crash with winXP, huge problem...

I've got a pretty nasty problem with a VERY unstable winXP box, about which i can't seem to find anything on google or around here. My host crashes at least every hour, which varies between slightly annoying to absolutely horrendous. Logfile is attached, i hope somebody has a clue:
Host:
Early 2011 MacBookPro (15", i7, 8GB) with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 in 64 bits.
Guest:
Windows XP (i think pro), 1 core, 4GB RAM, 2 virtual drives (10GB and 50GB).
Newest version of Vbox, extensions upgraded and enabled. Nothing special.
Problem:
Sometimes during my session, my macbook freezes. Completely. Sometimes a very loud alarm sounds. The only option is a hard reboot by holding the power button a few secs.
I'm monitoring CPU-use, memory, etc on both the host and the guest, but there don't seem t be any peaks just before crashing. Crashes seem to happen when switching between applications (either on the host or on the guest), or in other situations when something that isn't readily cached has to be accessed...
Does anybody recognize these symptoms, or have any clues on where to start searching?
