resize fixed vbi? W7 guest on OSX
Is it possible to resize a fixed vdi without going through a hd clone process? I understood it was possible and entered the correct syntax in Terminal; it got to 0% and then stopped VBOX_E_NOT_SUPPORTED.

Not with VirtualBox. Fixed is not supported when using the resize function (yet).

You can use CloneVDI, but you'll just have to accept that cloning is required. Note however that if you turn on the "Compact" option then the clone will be no larger than the used size of the source drive, regardless of how big you make the virtual size which the guest sees.
I suggest you invest in an external drive if your concern is the additional (temporary) disk space needed.
CloneVDI is a Windows app. To run it you could borrow the use of a Windows PC, or you can run it on a Mac under Wine/WineBottler.
