VM "inaccessible". Is it retrievable? SOLVED

Post by cb »

When I start virtualbox it claims that my (one and only) VM is 'inaccessible', with the message:
Hard disk '/path/to/c_drive.vdi' with UUID {fdaa4d36-fcc6-4d4f-9197-cf11872aa9c6} is already attached to a machine with UUID {7723e459-5a20-4429-4693-b33103d91db9} (see '/home/xxx/.VirtualBox/Machines/Win2k/Win2k.xml').

Result Code:
0x80004005
Component:
Machine
Interface:
IMachine {31f7169f-14da-4c55-8cb6-a3665186e35e}
Does this mean it's irretrievably broken or is there a fix? What might have caused this?

Cheers, CB.

This was fixed by moving from 1.5.0 (current in the Ubuntu gutsy repo) to 1.5.4.

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem as above and have upgraded from 1.5.2 to 1.5.6

any ideas what I can do to start the VM up?

Just the upgrade alone fixed the problem for me -- I didn't have to do anything.
