Accessing Shared Folder in Windows XP

Post by Freedomcoach »

I could use some assistance in Accessing a Shared Folder in Windows XP guest. Host is Mac Snow Leopard. I set up shared folder using VB tools and it is visible in mac environment but I'm having difficulty navigating to it inside windows. All help appreciated.

Stefan, I did a search on automount in the manual and found a couple of index references but nothing that explains it. I setup a shared folder in VB but am not seeing it on my XP desktop. All help appreciated.

If these are GA shared folders then all you should need to do is install the GAs inside the guest. After a reboot you should find the folder in your "My Network Places" branch in the shell explorer: "My Network Places\Entire Network\VirtualBox Shared Folders". For convenience you could map it to a drive letter.
