Solved: Cant get Remote Desktop to work

Hi!
I'm running 4.1.4 on Lion. And I'm having trouble connecting to a VM (Solaris 10) with vRDP even if it is enabled.

Code: Select all

$ VBoxHeadless -s "Solaris 10" -v on
Oracle VM VirtualBox Headless Interface 4.1.4
(C) 2008-2011 Oracle Corporation
All rights reserved.

VRDE server is listening on port 3389.
And the port is open. I've checked with nmap. But neither do Remote Desktop Connection for Mac, nor rdesktop work.
The log does not say much about rdp:

Code: Select all

$ grep -i rdp VBox.log
00:00:00.176 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack (Version: 4.1.4 r74291; VRDE Module: VBoxVRDP)
00:00:00.205 VRDP: TCP server listening on port 3389.
00:00:00.373 HWACCM:    VMX_VMCS_CTRL_PROC_EXEC_CONTROLS_RDPMC_EXIT
I would guess that is at least say something when I try to connect :/
Anyone? :)

The firewall of Mac OS X was the problem. thing say the port is open, but it was not.

Yup, you could have figured this out by the log alone. If there is an attempt to connect, you would have seen it. Since nothing was shown, the request never made it. Silly firewall. I've had my share of issues with Lion at work. Never liked Apple, now I really hate their current OS.

I only had a remote ssh to the Lion machine and according to the documentation I disabled it by command line.
