OEL Boot screen remains blank

I have installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.5 version in my Virtual Box. After installation while re-booting the OS or even starting a new session after VBox splash screen display remains blank and not moving further. VBox Manager shows the status as "Running" and it remains blank screen. I have attached the screenshot for reference. I didn't installed GRUB loader at the end of installation and i think it is required only if there multiple OS installed. Below are the partitions i have created during installation.

/
/boot
/usr
/home
/tmp
/var
swap

with the above partitions i have created two Logical Volume and left 15G of un partitioned LVM.

You have this backwards. Without the boot loader the guest will not boot in a single OS install.

Thanks Perryg for your response. At the end of installation installer copies the boot loader into file system, so this will not help to load guest OS in single install? Still We need to install GRUB loader as part of install to boot the guest OS?

The only time I would not install the boot loader is in a multi-boot install. I would set the first loader to handle the distinction between the others.
