D3D, Windows 7, Windows Host

Post by Ongaku »

How do I get D3D on my VM? I already installed WineD3D, GuestAdditions, Extension Pack, etc. Whenever I run dxdiag, it says that 3D Acceleration is unavailable. I am running Windows Vista as my Host and Windows 7 as my guest.
Also, I checked the box for enabling 2D Acceleration, but the 3D Acceleration box is grayed out and I can't check it. I've tried everything. Help please?

Wine3D is integrated in the guest additions.

If 3d in the guest settings is disabled, then you have a problem on the host. Maybe your VGA has not enough capabilities. Or wrong driver on the host.

Yes, but it is also a separate package outside the VBox world and them two don't mix.

He has a Problem on the host. Maybe on the guest too. But without solving first problem it does not work.

I agree. Until the OP can solve the 3d check box problem, it won't really matter what he does in the guest OS.

I can see the potential problems of installing both the guest additions and wined3d in the guest OS.
