how to fix "cannot mount /dev/sda1"

I have installed VM on myWindows Xp sp3, I make virtual for Android-x86(linux based kernel), I make one, it's ok, I can run normally. then I make againt, another versi of Android-x86, but every I want to format, I get message "cannot mount /dev/sda1", I try to format in ext3, ntfs, fat32 it's same message, "cannot mount..." I try change drive to another type ( VDI, VHD etc ) it's same error.
I try to make virtula windows Xp, I format to ntfs, it's can run normally..
I'm very confussed :( , anyone to help me?

Given that the question was asked five years ago, and even then was vague with no supporting data, and involved an unsupported guest OS... then I guess the answer to your question is "no".

Questions about e.g., how to mount or format a disk partition in Android, should ideally be asked in an Android forum, not a VirtualBox forum. This just isn't the place to find Android expertise.
