I use a Vista x64 guest on an opensuse 11.4 host with a GTX260 graphics card.
While trying to install Intel Fortran Composer XE 2011 (including the Visual Studio 2010 shell) I had to uncheck 3D acceleration for Visual studio to be able to initialize past "Shell Common UI Package".
First (failed) attempts were done with virtualbox 4.1.2 normal 3D drivers, then I switched to virtualbox 4.1.4 new WDDM graphics adaptater (VS2010 still blocked during startup).
Finally I tried just unchecking the 3D acceleration in the VM configuration and it now works.
Any idea to have both 3D acceleration and VS2010 working?
