VirtualBox-4.1.4-74291-Win.exe LOCKS up PC on install

VirtualBox-4.1.4-74291-Win.exe LOCKS up PC on install and I had to press reset after 20 minutes. I then try to re-install it and it says 'Oracle VM Virtualbox 4.1.4 setup wizard ended prematurely'. Now It's half installed and half not. How can I fix this. I searched the forum and seen this before but there was NO fix that I found.


Right, This only seems to happen when you click 'always trust from oracle' And stupidly I trusted oracle and now can't install it.

Does ANYBODY know how to remove oracle from trusted driver installer list ?

I also had this issue one time I tried to install a 4.x version.
After I disabled all networking it was possible to uninstall and reinstall VirtualBox.

You can try to:
- disconnect all network cables from your PC
- uncheck the "VirtualBox Bridged Networking" in all Adapter Settings

I doubt that this has anything to do with Oracle being in the trusted installer list.

Is is replicable, I can install older versions, but if try and install a newer version and click always trust from oracle the PC locks up on install.

BillG, Prove me wrong and tell me how to remove oracle from the trusted list and if it still hangs you can name your price

Did you try to go on Control Panel, then Internet Options?
There is a Certificates button where you can remove Oracle from the list.

I just looked in all the tabs under certificates in Internet explorer options and it's not listed. So I installed the latest chipset drivers from intel and clicked "'always trust from intel" and then rechecked the certificates and Intel wasn't listed either. So I uninstalled the intel drivers rebooted and tried to reinstall the chipset drivers and it NEVER asked to install them so Intel is definatly in the trusted list now, but nowhere in the certificates options.

Last time I needed this, it was under "Trusted Publishers", but maybe this has been changed.
You may also find it, if you click on Start, then Run... and type
