Windows Xp & Live CD\DvD

When in settings I select "Storage" and check "Live CD\DVD", they (Settings) saved (when i repeatedly go), but when I go to guest OS Windows Xp that CD Drive is not visible. Then I turn off guest OS and go to Settings that Live CD\DVD not select. And in Device Manager there is one (VBOX CD-ROM). In Nero there is not one. Why?

That's strange... I was going to tell you to turn on the "Passthrough" checkbox, but I don't see one! It seems to be gone, and whatever "Live CD/DVD" is intended to do doesn't seem to be documented in the user manual (however "Passthrough" still is!). The balloon help does not make it sound like a replacement.

Ah, never mind, got it.

The "Live CD/DVD" option only appears when an ISO image is mounted in the virtual drive. ISO images are read only, hence Nero won't see it (Nero only sees CD/DVD burn-capable drives).

It's unclear what your intentions are. If you want to burn physical CDs using Nero then you must associate the virtual CD drive with a host drive, and enable the "Passthrough" option - this option is only visible when you have selected a host drive.

For more about how is it please. Something I can not find this feature.

Did you read the User Manual? It's described there how and what. You need to select your physical drive before that option becomes available.

The virtual CD/DVD drive(s) by default support only reading. The medium configuration is changeable at runtime. You can select between three options to provide the medium data:
Host Drive defines that the guest can read from the medium in the host drive.
Image file (typically an ISO file) gives the guest read-only access to the data in the image.
Empty stands for a drive without an inserted medium.)

For virtual CD/DVD drives, the following additional options are available:

• If you select "Host drive" from the list, then the physical device of the host computer is connected to the VM, so that the guest operating system can read from and write to your physical device. This is, for instance, useful if you want to install Windows from a real installation CD. In this case, select your host drive from the drop-down list presented.
  If you want to write (burn) CDs or DVDs using the host drive, you need to also enable the "Passthrough" option; see Section 5.9, “CD/DVD support”.
• If you select "Remove disk from virtual drive", VirtualBox will present an empty CD/DVD drive to the guest into which no media has been inserted.
