I'm trying to install a Windows 7 VM on a Mac OS X Host (Snow Leopard) with VirtualBox 4.1.4 (I have also tried with the last 2 released versions). I'm using an installation disk provided by my company that has a "preflight check" to make sure the machine has enough resources for the installation. I've allocated 4GB of RAM (out of a total of 8GB on my Mac), but the pre-flight check thinks I have less than the 1GB minimum.
See screenshot for the installation error message alongside my configuration for the VM:
Windows VM does not think I've allocated more than 1GB RAM

Did you boot the MAC in 64-bit mode?
If not then you will need to assign no more than 3GB of RAM. You still may need the MAC to be in 64-bit mode though but you can test that yourself.

Ah, I did not have it set for 64-bit, but unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. It still thinks I have less than 1GB when I get to the preflight checks. I had previously tried several different RAM settings (still under 32-bit) and none of them worked.
Any other suggestions?
