Hi folks,
I'm running VB 4.1.4 under Lion -- I don't know if this is an issue related to Lion or not. Also I'm new to VB so it could be my ignorance as well. My guest is Debian Linux.
I follow the manual's advice, and go to Devices->Shared Folders... to set up a shared folder, which is actually my home folder "mike" on the Mac. I select "automount" and "permanent", and give it the name "mikeOnMac". This seems to go OK -- no error comes up.
But when I switch to my guest system, where's the shared folder? The manual says I should (in a terminal) do
mike@debian:/dev$ sudo mount -t vboxsf mikeShared /mnt/mikeOnMac
But I get:
/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: Invalid argument
Where do I go from here? There's a complex error log dump at the Linux end so I'll post this query to the Debian guest forum as well, with the extra info.
TIA, Mike.

[SOLVED] Re: Shared folders and Lion
Well that was quick!! Yes, another case of RTFM. Reading on in the manual, I found that under Debian my folder would be automatically mounted as /media/sf_mikeShared. Yes, it is! So once I added myself to the group vboxsf, as the manual says, I could access the folder with no problems at all.
Thanks for your patience...
Cheers, Mike.
