Windows Server 2003 incoming connections problem

Post by darklord »

Hello,

I recently installed Windows Server 2003 with SP1. When the installation was completed i got a screen telling me that all incoming connections are blocked because i have not installed the latest updates. Of course i cannot install anything because i no internet. When i click finish i am getting a message that all connections will be restored etc. Finally i have no internet access. The ipconfig is giving me nothing but Windows IP Configuration without IP, default gateway etc. Im new to virtualbox and windows server 2003. I have used NAT and Bridged Adapter as options in Network settings in VirtualBox. I searched a lot but i coudlnt find anything that could help me. I would appreciate your help.

"No incoming connections" is a Microsoft installer message and it does not mean that you have no Internet access.

You should automatically get Internet access if you used the default options to install your server. If you change to bridged it will not work unless you have a DHCP server on your network.

Set networking back to NAT and restart your server. If you do not have access, do an ipconfig on the guest. If you cannot see from that what your problem is, post it here.

That does not look good. I would shut down the guest and repair or re-install VirtualBox. It looks like the network setup failed.

Ok i found the solution. I had to change the Network Settings in Virtual Box to Bridged Adapter then Advanced and choose Intel Pro/1000 MT Server option.

What did you select when you tried bridged mode earlier? What other option is there?
