Ubuntu 11.04, user in vboxusers, Windows XP guest, no USB

Post by anewguy »

I have Ubuntu 11.04 as my host OS, and running Windows XP guest. My userid is in the vboxusers group in Ubuntu. VB lets me turn on the USB 2.0 controller, and put in a blank filter. However, it will not access USB and says I need to be a member of the vboxusers group. I'm confused! ;)

Thanks in advance!
Dave ;)

Did you log off and back on after you added your user name to the vboxusers group?

Crap ;) ..... It's working now after doing exactly that! I don't even know if Homer Simpson can make as a big of a "Doooop!" as I did when I read your post. Never logged out/back in to Ubuntu - I just kept trying to restart the VM.

I feel very stupid.

Thank you!!!

Dave ;)
