Hi Everyone:

After many steps, I finally got my Windows XP VM functioning. My next step is to figure out how to get my internet connection working. With my Windows 7 VM, this was automatic but not with XP. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this. Thanks!

Why not first reading the manual about the right network settings.

You must understand this. Not only know where to activate a checkbox or something like that.

After reading and understanding post again, if there are problems. But then with details and not with "does not work".

Details are:

Host Internet Connection
Exact Guest Settings
VBOX Version
Logfile
Screenshot of the guest device manager (network settings)
and so on ...

Stefan, I am not averse to reading manuals. I do it all the time. However, I am finding the VirtualBox user manual to be very technical and not that helpful to more novice users like myself. I tried locating sections that would help with my internet connection and not seeing anything applicable. Here is my configuration:

My host internet connection is via a standard comcast hi speed service. My host is a macbook pro running the latest Snow Leopard OS. My Windows 7 VM works with this internet connection just fine. Is there some way of seeing what is happening there and duplicating it with my XP VM?

When you say exact guest settings, where would I obtain this?

I'm running the very latest VBOX version, just released. Logfile is below:

Thanks.
