Virtual box disables host internet conection on startup

Post by jgyprime »

hello
i-m new to this forum
i use the latest version of virtual box (4.1.4) but the problem was on earlier versions...
i might say it was from the first time i used it....
i've searched this forum and i didn-t find the solution to the problem...

decription:
host OS: Windows 7 Ultimate X64 (no SP included)
host computer: Fujitsu Siemens AMILO PI 3525 (and more other computers)
guest OS: Windows XP (i also don't think it matters anyway... same problem was with ubuntu or other operating systems)
host internet connection: LAN connection with DHCP enabled from the router or Wi-Fi connection

internet connection works fine until i start virtual box, not a guest machine, but the main application.
the internet connection becomes unavailable,
the icon on the tskbar appeares like this:

i found tke image searching google, it is not my printscreen
i found a temporary solution, as i didn't start virtual box once every 2-3 weeks...
i disabled the network adapter and reenabled it...

the guest OS doesn't need any internet connection or any type of comunication with the host OS...
i need the guest os to test some installers to work with windows XP 32 bit...

any solutions?

If you do not need any networking in the vms, the best option is not to install any of the networking options when you install VirtualBox. Actually read the screens that come up during the install before you click!
