Broken access to VirtualBox shared folder

Hello,
Ubuntu 11.04 host, Windows XP SP3 guest here.
I have one shared folder defined in the VM settings, and it used to work fine, until it got broken, I think, today. And the same problem is on other Win XP guests, so I guess this is not the Windows fault here.
Here's how I can trigger the error: I open the Windows Explorer, expand to [My Network Places / Entire Network / VirtualBox Shared Folders / Vboxsvr / \\VBOXSVR\Sharename] in the treeview, right click on the [\\VBOXSVR\Sharename] to get the context menu, choose "Map Network Drive" (Y:), select the drive letter and Finish. The new drive is added fine. Now, when I try to open the new network drive [My Computer / (Y:) Sharename on 'Vboxsvr'], I get the error message:
Y:\ is not accessible.
The parameter is incorrect.
Funny enough, I can open the command prompt and cd to Y: and subfolders without problems. If I dir there, it says "File not found", but I can still cd to subfolders, and dir works there just fine. I can copy and delete files there using copy and del commands.
However, if I write Y:/Subfolder in the windows explorer, it opens the contents of the subfolder, but I can not nor copy nor delete files from there. I get the same error as I quoted above.
I've got the newest VirtualBox, with newest Guest tools. I can't imagine what I can possibly do better. For shortterm fix, I have set up samba server, share the folders using samba, mapped the windows drive without problems. But I'd like to get rid of samba solution.
