I'm running a Windows Vista SP1 guest on an Ubuntu 10.04 LTS host. My VM was created before upgrading to 4.1.4 and had a Windows share, but after upgrading to 4.1.4 opening the share failed. I deleted and recreated the share in VirtualBox Settings/Shared Folders, but nothing seems to make it visible to my Windows guest. Was running Guest additions 4.0.x and also updated it to the latest 4.1.4. Is this a known issue, or any suggestions what to try next?
Thanks,
John

Re: Windows Share issues with upgrade to VirtualBox 4.1.4
Just a follow up: I uninstalled Guest Additions inside the Vista VM and reinstalled and the problem went away. I believe the issue may have been caused by the fact that I installed Guest Additions while the Linux host was on a VPN (openvpn). During the reinstall I made sure that the VPN/openvpn was down.
