Download of updated version horror. please help!
Posted: 13. Oct 2011, 16:54
I have a Mackbook with MacOs Leopard running VBox v4.04 (with Windows).
I tried to upgrade it to the latest version today, 13th Oct'11.
I got a message: "download 'Oracle vm Virtualbox Extension Pack' or disable USB 2".
I tried to download the 'Oracle vm Virtual Extension Pack' but it said my own version was newer, so I didn't do it.
Instead I tried to disable USB 2 but I could not get into the settings to do it (greyed out)
I then went to Time Machine and tried to restore the previous version of the VirtualBox application.
But when I tried to start it up, to my horror it gave a message: "terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1".
With details:-
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: Machine
Interface: IMachine {662c175e-a69d-40b8-a77a-1d719d0ab062}
Please someone, what can I do now? I also get another flag saying "RTR3Init failed with rc=-1912 (rc=-1912)" which I click abort.
I havn't a clue what is going on. Did I do something wrong? Can I restore it using Time Machine?
I am very shocked and just hope there is some kind soul out there who can help me.
