Importing ovf file from VMWARE

Post by silverpef »

I am attempting to import an .ova file from VMWARE 4.0.0 to my Virtual box 4.1.4
The virtual machine is a Windows 2008 R2, when attempting to import into virtual box, I receive the following error:
Failed to import appliance .\*.ova
Internal Error (VERR_TAR_CHKSUM_MISMATCH)
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Appliance
Interface: IAppliance {3059cf9e-25c7-4f0b-9fa5-3c42e441670b}

I suggest you report that error message who whomever made the archive, and/or check your download against an md5 checksum. The error message means that the .OVA is corrupted or invalid.

I get the same result after exporting an XP virtual from my VMware 4.1 ESXi host using vCenter. Perhaps they have different interpretations of the .ova/.ovf format. I believe I've read that before.
