VM State Change - Files lost!!

Post by jamesedwards »

I just installed the Virtual Box 4.1.4 and Extension Pack 4.1.4 updates.
After reloading my VB it seems to be in a different 'state'.

Half the projects files used by a piece of project planning software I run on VB have disappeared and the software seems to have gone back to a prior state when most of my projects were not yet created.
The "Snapshot" tab on the VM states "Current State (changed)" in the sub menu of my last Snapshot. What does this mean?

How do I get my Virtual Box back to the state it was in before I installed the 2 updates?!!

Many thanks,
Josh

I just tried to load my software up inside VB again and it said "There was a critical error opening and no appropriate backup file was found".. now I can see NO project files within the software.

What backup are you referring to exactly? Does VB have an automatic backup I can access?

Funnily enough, no! Or I doubt I would be making this post. I last backed up a month ago whilst I was still at home in the UK.. I am in the US now with no Time Machine!
I was just wondering what might have happened to cause this state change to occur after the update installations, and if the previous state of the VB (with all my project on it!!) is recoverable..

Any ideas??

Thanks
