Upgrading Snow Leopard to Lion with VBox 4.1.2

Post by mick.alvey »

Has anyone done an OS upgrade from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Lion 10.7.1 with VirtualBox 4.1.2 already installed? Just wondering whether it's time to upgrade or not? I do not want to break a perfectly running box for the sake of just keeping up to date. Any insight here appreciated. THX :)
Cheers,

VB should still work, and if there is any issue with, let's say the kernel module, you can always install VB again or repair it's installation (if it's an option in the Mac installer type, I don't know). And if you want to keep up to date, get 4.1.4. If you do both upgrades (OSX first), you can be pretty confident everything still works.
But it's never a bad idea to have a full system backup so you can return to pre-upgrade state in case things do break.
