Hi,

When I install Guest Additions on a Windows 7 guest machine and prompt it to installed the WDDM driver, after a restart it crashes when Windows is about to load the desktop. Below is the AppCrash log.

Host is a Dell Optiplex 745; Core2Due 1.8Ghz with an Intel builtin GPU running Windows 7.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: VirtualBox.exe
Application Version: 4.1.4.0
Application Timestamp: 4e89cbab
Fault Module Name: ig4dev32.dll
Fault Module Version: 8.14.10.1930

Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 0001f988
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
Additional Information 1: 1ec0

I know the simple fix is not to install WDDM but I wanted to test Areo out since as it sort of works out of the box with Windows 8 Developer. Any guidence is greatfully received.

Thanks
Jamie

I see a lot of issues with the Intel built-in GPU
Make sure that you have the latest and greatest (host) drivers and see if that helps. Other than that I don't know if you will be able to use wddm with this card on a guest.
