Cloning disks and snapshots

Post by [ Xi0N ] »

I have a couple of VM's tat have been created from real disks.
One of them was dumped via dd and then converted to VDI.... after using it for some days and some snapshots, i realize the disk is not as dynamic as it should be, so i discovered with the clone tool that VBoxManage supplies, i can reduce the space, because the zeroed sectors will be erased... but my question is: Should i undo every snapshot before doing this?

Another machine has a vmdk disk, which i want to converto to vdi (using qemu to convert it to a binary and then VBoxManage to convert it to vdi) - this disk has snapshots as well...... do i have to erase them before doing anything?

Thanks!!!!
