Can not rename a VM bug!

Post by kebabbert »

Ok, I have some snapshots. Then I tried to rename a VM, and upon next boot I could not boot the VM. It said something like "could not find the VDI" or something. So I tried to relase it, still no good. I renamed it back to the original name and now it works.

Conclusion, you can not rename a VM if you have snapshots. Can anyone confirm?

I guess this would only affect legacy (VirtualBox v3) VMs. V4 VMs use relative paths for drive files, the path would only be absolute (and hence include a VM name) if some other VM owned the drive.
