Hi everyone,
Im new here and i have a question about virtualBox. So i have installed windows7 32bit on my computer which have 4GB RAM. I have a virtual machine with windows2008 64 bit. The question is if i add 4GB additional ram will be able the virtual machine to recognize and use all RAM (8GB) that is installed ?
Thanks in advance.
Will 64bit Windows recognize more than 4GB RAM ?

Thanks for your reply.
So my CPU support vt-x (E8500) and its enable. But it seems 64bit guest cant recognize more than 3.5GB RAM if my host is 32bit. Am im right ?

No idea, never tried to see what the limits are, always been running a 64bit Host for 64bit Guests that need lots of ram, just try it and find out, the VM can always be used again when changing Host OS.

Not with your current Host. Since the Host is 32 bit, you won't be able to see or allocate more than 3,7 GB any way. If you get more than 4 GB on your system, go with a 64 bit Host. Else it doesn't do much. Like having a pool in your back yard, but no water in it. Fun to have, but unusable.zumitaka wrote:The question is if i add 4GB additional ram will be able the virtual machine to recognize and use all RAM (8GB) that is installed ?
