HI,
I've just installed VB for the first time. I have a Windows Vista guest on an OSX Snow Leopard host. I have downloaded and installed the realtek ac97 but, when I go to VB settings, the audio icon and all options under that 'tab' are grayed-out. Is this a host OS issue or have I perhaps missed a configuration step?
Thanks,
Phil

Ok - I'm an idiot ... you can only change the audio settings when the machine isn't running. Nevermind :

Re: Can't "enable audio" in VM settings
i install both xp and 98se, and both have no sound and both audio is grey out
grey out host driver window direct sound-- controller ICH AC97 on window XP
grey out host driver window 98se window direct sound-controller soundblaster 16
install on window 7 using creative x-fi xtreme audio sound card
and im sure I could change seting before but not now

I would guess that there's something wrong with the sound API on your host.
