Update OS or Install Guest Additions First?

Quick question: I am installing Ubuntu on VirtualBox and am wondering if it is better to install updates or guest additions first. Or does it not matter?

I would update first and install the necessary extra packages to be able to compile external modules. Then install the GAs.

It's noted in my guide, best to first update everything, so you're certain you got the right environment to install the GA with. After the updates, reboot and install the GA . See my signature for the link, in case you don't know exactly how to install the Guest Additions.
