Hi
I have a HP xw8200 xeon 3.6 ghz x2 processors with 8gb of ram. Windows shows this up fine and have hyperthreading enabled in the bios. When loading virtualbox on the processor slide bar for the virtual machine, this is greyed out and the virtual os thinks there is only one processor, because I have a 64 bit os I cannot install the os.
Can you please let me no how I enable to processor tab so I can select the second processor please.
I am currently running Windows 7 Ulimate as my base operating system.
Many thanks
Craig

Re: 2nd Processor not enabled
You need to enable hardware-v in the bios of you pc to be able to use 64-bit guests.

as previously stated hyper threading is the only option i can see within the bios, all other options are turned on, windows 7 base os picks both processors up fine not sure where else to look on this one

Re: 2nd Processor not enabled
If you don't have hardware-v (hardware virtualization) you will not be able to install 64-bit guests.

Re: 2nd Processor not enabled
Then I suggest you read the VirtualBox FAQ. If you don't meet the hardware requirements, you can't run 64 bit Guests nor use multiple processors. HyperThreading is nothing more than enabling the second lane to the CPU. It has nothing to do with hardware virtualisation which is required here.
