DVD driver

I have installed VB 4.1.2 (latest version) on my MacBook Pro running 10.7
I have created a guest box for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
When I start the guest box and begin the Windows installation, it comes up with a message to load a driver
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
Why is it not finding this on the disk. I have already downloaded another ISO file and created a new disk. I have used this ISO and disk to install Windows on other computers.

Why don't you just use the ISO instead of burning to cd?

Because the ISO is on our Windows Server.
We have already used that same ISO for other installations.
But, I will download another copy, burn it to disk and try again.
After that, I'm going to try Parallels
Oh, and I'm going to try installing with Boot Camp also.

Don't burn it to disk. Just attach the ISO file to the virtual Drive.
Burning sometimes causes the issue you are seeing.

I will try that, but I am a total noob with Mac. Never had one, never wanted one, until now.
So, not sure how to do what you suggested, but I will find out. If you point me in the right direction, it will help. Thanks.

You copy the ISO file to the MAC and open the guest settings and in the storage section to the right of the CD/DVD you should see a CD icon where you can click and select the file that you have saved. Then boot the guest and see if it takes off.

That was the trick. Bypass the install from a disk and install directly from the hard drive. Much faster also.
It's installing now, so hopefully it completes.
Thanks for your suggestion

It isn't a Mac thing so much as a virtual machine thing. That is standard procedure for vms. A vm does not have any hardware of its own. It does not "see" the physical devices of the host directly. It has its own emulated devices which somehow link to something physical. For a hard disk it uses a virtual disk which is a file on the host's disk system. For a DVD it uses an ISO file on the host system.
VirtualBox passes through data from the physical mouse and keyboard to the emulated ones.
There are ways to make a vm use a physical disk on DVD mounted on the host but the above description is the normal mode of operation.
