After successfully installin gVB on OS X 10.6.8 and installing XP with SP3 and installing the Guest Additions, Windows Updates (103+ of them) do not download. The first attempt actually listed the first download in the download list which ended up as failed. Then the second item was listed and that to failed. I ended up cancelling the update (download) process. Now when i attempt a download, and just select one item, Windows Update doesn't even list the one item I sellected, it just sits a few minutes, then bombs out stating that "So and so was not installed."
I am behind a proxy server, but have no problems browsing to any site.
Any one else have this issue and fix it?
Kevin

Re: Windows Updates do not work
Not a VirtualBox problem
The normal windows update will not work with a proxy. Try the Windows browser or ask Microsoft what to do.

Re: Windows Updates do not work
Well, I know that Windows Update works behind a proxy since my company has been using one since the dawn of time and I've always have been able to update my Windows PC behind it. Is it more related to using a VM and running updates as I also had this same exact issue not being able to run Win updates on a Win7 VM when using Parallels as well...

Re: Windows Updates do not work
There you have it. Since another virtualiser has the same issue, this is definitely not VB related. As you said in your TS, you're behind a proxy. You may have been able to update in the past, but proxies aren't static. Their configuration can change and that also means that it can filter .exe files and what not. You have to ask your system administrator for help.
