Hi all. I'm using Windows 7 Home X64 on VirtualBox 4.1.2. Host system is Windows Ultimate X32. Hardware is Gigabyte AM3 GA-MA770 Athlon II X4 630 2.8 GHz, 4Gb Ram (over 1Gb is set for guest system). All works fine but when I trying to update guest system using windows update, guest system completely hangs after some time. Virtualbox shows that it running. Below is screenshot of guest system window after I clicking and then chancelling close menu item.

What I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Update: I'm noticied the same hang issue during installation of Visual Studio 2010 and also when VIsual Studio was running application in Debug mode (seems it was stopped on breakpoint. Not sure when exactly it happen because I was switched to the host system and when switched back, guest system was hanging).

Several issues you need to address.
1) extension pack not installed
2) guest additions not installed (in the guest)
3) free up some more memory on the host
4) while it is possible to run a 64bit guest on a 32 bit host if VT-x/AMD-v is present, it produced a big overhead.

Thanks for these suggestions. Just not sure why guest additions not installed because I was installing them 3 times.

"Immutable" is an option you can set for drives. If you don't know the word then most likely you have not used the feature, which is described in the user manual.
