"Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object....

Help please...
I have been running VirtualBox for about a year upgrading each time the newest version come out and have had no problems. Recently tried to reopen VirtualBox on my Intel Mac OS 10.6.8 with Windows XP but suddenly get window that says.... see attachment
"Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object.
The application will now terminate."
Under details is says....
"Callee RC: NS_ERROR_FACTORY_NOT_REGISTERED (0x80040154)"

Ran the uninstaller and reinstalled 4.1.2 with same result.
Uninstalled again and installed 3.2.12 same problem then updated to 4.1.2 again and get same message.

Anyone have any idea what to do next?

From what I read here you need to run the Repair Disk Permissions using DIsk Utility on your MAC host then it help.

Have run Disk Repair several times before and after install but always finds errors it says are corrected.
Will try it from the DVD instead to see if that will do better...

After repairing permissions from the Snow Leopard disk all is now well again!

Sorry for pulling this up again but I thought it was recent enough.

I'm getting the same error "Failed to create COM-Object". I have already tried a reinstall, reinstall + reboot and repairing the permissions from the install disk. The only difference is that I am running 10.7. Any further ideas to solve this problem?
