I am running the latest VirtualBox 4.1.2 on host MacBook Pro 2011 running Mac OS X Lion. I tried guest OS Red Hat and Ubuntu. Both of them can not see the built-in SD card reader that comes with this MacBook. The built-in SD card reader did not show up under Devices -> USB or any other options.
I could see the SD card fine from within Mac and I made sure I ejected it before I started the VM.
I tried messing around with Device Filter in VirtualBox but no luck. My work around right now is to use a USB card reader and plug it into one of the USB ports in MacBook. Then VirtualBox can see the USB card reader in Devices -> USB and I can access it in the guest OS. But I sure wish VirtualBox can directly see the Mac built-in SD card reader.
Anyone has any luck in making VirtualBox recognize the Mac's SD card reader? If so, how did you do it?
thanks,
