machine xml config file

Post by lucmoulinier »

Hello !

Since I updgrade to 4.1.2, I could not find the <machine>.xml file that was previously in .virtualbox/ folder under "Documents and Settings/>myname>" under Windows.

Can someone explain me where I can find this file or its content again ? A search for it on my PC gives no results.

Thanks in advance !

Since v4.0.0, machine config files now have the .vbox extension, though they are still xml files. For VMs existing before v4 this config file is in the same folder it was in before, the file is just renamed. New VMs are created in "VirtualBox VMs\<machine name>". Hard disk and config files now go into that common folder. Snapshots if any are in a "Snapshots" subfolder.
