im not sure were this topic would belong
anyway
im on my mac laptop and ive installed virtualbox and used my old vista computers disc (because i cant find my win7 or xp ones)
i made the ''harddisk'' 10gb underestimating how much space would get used by the updates n system files
how can i increase this to say... 30GB (OR) create a new ''harddisk'' at 30GB <-- For this 1.. how can i copy everything from the 10GB one to the 30? because i dont want to have to start the whole thing again and use the product key a third time

Why so difficult?

Use CloneVDI to resize the image. In Vista you can start System Control / Admin / Disk Devices to resize the partition.

CloneVDI should work with WINEBottler.

You use the terminal and run the command in that. Since you want to increase to 30GB the resize value would be 30720
You need to replace <filename> with the absolute path and complete name and extension of the file (HDD) that you want to increase. Put " " around the path & filename if there are spaces.

VBoxManage modifyhd <filename> --resize 30720

what would the command prompt version be on win7 to do this? (il just copy the vdi onto this computer using a portable hdrive)

It would be the same thing. Only from the Windows command window. But, VirtualBox would need to be installed on the Windows PC for the command to work. and you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe.
If you don't want to install VBox on the Windows 7 PC just use CloneVDI Tool
