Marco took this topic into a completely wrong direction, henceforth, I'll lock it.

The problem with questions like these is that you will have two groups throwing mud at each other: the Linux fans and the Windows fans. You won't get a sensible response from that. 'Cause face it, what's more secure: an OS that's in use by 70+% of the computer users and thus targeted the most, or an OS that is used a lot less, is not a big target, but is filled with holes that are not yet discovered? I don't know if there really are that many security holes in Linux, but it's for comparison. By nature, Linux has a good security model.

Anyway, the end level of security is not just the Host that's in use, it's also the Guest OS you're going to run and the applications on them.

What's the next topic going to be? Which OS is best to run VB on? As on many other forums, questions and discussions about which OS someone should use always ends up in flamewars.
