Uninstallation of virtualbox guest additons ruined the mouse

Post by beecher »

When I uninstalled the virtualbox guest additions in windows xp on virtualbox, the mouse stopped working and I'm trying to get it too work again
It doesn't even work in safe mode
I also installed direct3d support in virtualbox guest additons
And it can't even detect a ps/2 mouse driver too

There is nothing wrong with the VBox mouse emulation: for example it works fine for DOS and Win98/ME guests, which don't have GAs at all. And it also works for XP (and later Windows) users before they install GAs.

Perhaps you should go into control panel and add new hardware manually. Also check the state of the mouse in Device Manager - you should be able to roll back the mouse driver to a previous working one.

Why uninstall the GAs anyway?
