Hey there,
I am using VirtualBox with Windows XP SP3 to run and test the Log File Management Tool Splunk.
To index log files these should be accessed by Splunk through the Shared Directories. The problem is, that the Splunk service isn't able to connect to the host service drive via "\\vboxsrv\[myfolder]".
I tried several options to give the service the opportunity to get access to the host system, but it stil won't work. My anyone provide any help to me?
Please see my Questions at the Splunk answer board concerning this issue:

I would be very glad for any help.
Kind regards
