ok about 3 times the virtual box has just closed down no explanation
and sometimes when i change the screen mode it makes a black screen in the vm
then when i bring up the task manager its ok and goes back to normal

Read the Forum Posting Guide, follow it and give information. Now we know as much as when you didn't create a topic at all, except that you seem to have some kind of issue.

Did you install guestaddtions with the new 3D support?
I have seen that behaviour when running fullscreen, which is why I ask.
