I am not sure if this is VBox or Linux problem.
I Wubi nstalled Ubuntu 11.04 within XPprf on VBox, I get the menu, select Ubuntu starts loading to normal orange desktop & this comes up:- piix4-SMBUS 0000.000-7.0 Smbus Uniniitialised Upgrade Bios or use Force_Addr=dxaddr
& then freezes. Which bios is that?

Re: Ubuntu install on XPprof. Error
WUBI is not the best solution for installing Linux. Make an own Ubuntu Guest and install it from an Ubuntu Live CD. That works always.

Re: Ubuntu install on XPprof. Error
You could try changing the chipset to ICH9 in the vm settings, but I agree with Stefan. Why are you trying to use WUBI in a vm? Why not use the ubuntu live cd?
Also you are now in the wrong forum. Ubuntu is NOT a Windows guest.

Re: Ubuntu install on XPprof. Error
Despite it being in the wrong forum, your situation is probably caused due to Wubi itself. The message you see on the console is what we all see and can be safely ignored. If you did the normal dual boot situation, where you have a hard drive divided in multiple parts (one for Windows, another for Linux) or if you have two hard drives, one for each OS, then you would use the normal installation method of Linux to create a nice dual boot situation. Wubi is a hack and can be considered a VM like solution. Since nested virtualisation doesn't work with VB, you get this problem.
So, get rid of Wubi and you will get rid of your problem.

That last post is possibly spam, definitely off topic. As already mentioned, this forum is "Windows Guests".
