Windows XP locks up during reboot

Hi,

I installed a fresh Windows XP (CD from MSDNAA, includes SP3) inside VirtualBox 4.1. I activated IO-APIC, 2 CPUs, USB 2.0, and the abolsute pointing device. However, the guest additions are installed as well. Windows XP refuses to reboot (locks up). If I deactivate the absolute pointing device, it reboots just fine. If I activate it again, the issue reoccurs. Shutdown works fine with or without the absolute pointing device.

This seems like a bug to me.

Same problem here. This is a horrible bug.

When "absolute pointing device" is checked (this is the default), you can NOT reboot windows guest. You can shut down, you can save, but if you REBOOT then it just goes to a blank screen and stays there forever until you power off.

Please fix this, or at least make "absolute pointing device" NOT be checked by default.

These kinds of problems that are reproducible should be reported to bugtracker. You will need to setup an account there as it is on a different system.
It would also help if you can post the ticket number here so other can see the progress, add information, or see the final results.
