I have two machines (virtualBox) set up with Windows Server 2008 on both. One of them is set up as a Domain Controller. The other server has SQL 2008 running and I am trying to join this instance with the Domain. The error that I keep getting is:
An Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) could not be contacted. .....
Can anyone help me out on this issue? I am new to Active Directory, so finding it difficult to figure out what is going on. My guess is that it is something very rudimentary. I will appreciate any help.

Re: DOmain Server on VM cannot be contacted
Just because the machines are running under VirtualBox, it does not mean that this is a VirtualBox question. It is a straight AD question and should be posted in a Windows Server AD forum.
Hint. The server should be in the same network and the same IP subnet as the DC and use the DC for DNS.
