Just reinstalled Windows 7 guest.
Now I get the 'Safely remove' for the hard disk:

What is that about?

The harddisk is on SATA port 0
VBox is 4.10 (newest).
In windows it's shown as a harddisk, not a removable drive.

Is that SATA hotplug or something?
Looks like a bug to me.

Of course I just had to try to eject my c-drive, but the drive was busy :-)

Why would you try to eject the system drive? I am pleased that it failed.

The question is why has he an option to remove disk, not why he does it.
He does it, because he is curious :)

What version of VBox is this?

VBox used to do this with XP as well, i.e. treat all SATA drives as potentially removable (i.e. eSATA), but I thought that was fixed a long time ago.

VBox is the newest!
Never seen it before this version.
The funny thing is that Windows won't even install on anything removable.

Guest: Win7, no one else installed just VBA. A plain Win7 + 4.1.2 VBA.

It's the SATA hotplug option that gives you this. If you have a laptop and have the Intel Storage controller, you get the same. VB emulates similar hardware, the Intel ICH8M to be precise. And yes, that M stands for mobile, so you have the hot-plug option.
