Hello,
my host operating systems are Ubuntu 10.04/10.10 and my guest operating system is Windows XP.
I wanted to move the virtual Windows XP from the ubuntu 10.04 computer to the ubuntu 10.10 computer so I just moved the 17GB sized vdi file and created a new virtual machine using the moved virtual hard disk.
On the 10.04 computer everything worked fine but now I am getting a bluescreen "caused by the following file: sptd.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA".
Any ideas why this happens and what i can do to solve this?

Re: Moving virtual hard disk to another Computer
Either make sure you used exactly the same machine settings (especially concerning the chipset and IDE/SATA controllers) or start Windows XP in safe mode and uninstall Daemon Tools or whatever installed the SCSI-passthrough driver that's faulting.julianibus wrote: On the 10.04 computer everything worked fine but now I am getting a bluescreen "caused by the following file: sptd.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA".

If it's Daemon Tools - why even install it in a guest if the VM itself can mount ISO files?
